Mr. Tyler'c class shares their depth of learning for the month of October!
Students were tasked with identifying a problem in their neighborhood that required an engineered solution. These students did great work!
Student 1 (Water Filter)--> The problem was to stop unclean water from dropping down to the grass of a front yard. The solution was creating storage and a filter to purify something. The student wants to make storage to store water and put a filter under so the unclean water can be drinking water. Schematics and a test run video are provided.
Student 2 (Trashcan)--> The problem is to stop litter at the front of an apartment without using a trashcan (that will make the front be stinky). The student will try to find a way to make the trash go to the back(where all the trash cans are). The plan is to put a sort of trashcan in the front that will automatically suck the trash to the back. (Automatically so it won´t smell). Two pictures are provided.
Student 3 (Circuit Breaker) --> The problem is that whenever the student and his family use too many home appliances/electricity, the circuit breaker cuts out and the power goes off. A picture and two videos are provided.
